The Lee Endowment for Global Freshwater, a unit of the Inland Seas Education Association was presented at The 2005 Lee Global Freshwater Visionary Award at the Great Lakes Bioneers Conference in Traverse City on Friday, October 14 in the Milliken Auditorium.

The winner of the Lee Prize will received international recognition, a citation and a cash award. In January 2003, Ms. Leslie Lee, a long time resident of Elk Rapids, Michigan, and the Herrington-Fitch Family Foundation provided an unprecedented gift to the Inland Seas Education Association. This gift established the Lee Endowment for Global Freshwater (LEGF) at the Inland Seas Education Center in Suttons Bay, Michigan, USA. (www.schoolship.org)
