Bioneers Conference Art and Entertainment Update

Movies!  Movies! Movies!  Yes-  we want to see what you've got!!! See your movie up on the BIG Screen at the Milliken Auditorium at the Dennos Museum in  Traverse City!

We are prowling for submissions for the Student Video Showcase at the Great Lakes Bioneers Conference.

Students are encouraged to submit their videos along the Great Lakes Bioneers
Conference theme of : 2011 THEME: Reclaiming the Commons
The commons include:

Natural Resources - forests, atmosphere, groundwater, surface water, fisheries
Cultural Resources - arts, language, media, tradition, belief, elders
Public Goods - public space, education, health, basic services, built environment
'Life Commons’ - genomes, heritage breeds and seeds, our children

The Friday night Earthwork Concert has become a tradition at GL Bioneers. Prepare yourself for an evening of warm, soulful singing, toe-tapping melodies and, as always, a bit of the unexpected!

Bioneers'Community Artist GLENN WOLFF
Each year we host an art project to be completed by conference participants during the course of the weekend. From 2004-2006 Traverse City native Glenn Wolff was our artistic facilitator. We are pleased to announce that Glenn returns to this role for our tenth anniversary year. He will guide us through a beautiful journey (re)discovering inter-connectivity.  Work on the art piece in the lobby of Milliken throughout the conference weekend.

Red Carpet screening @ The State Theatre 8:00 pm Saturday Night
This red carpet screening of "When We Run," is a documentary by Mishe Mokwa Media about On The Ground's Run Across Ethiopia. The trip, sponsored by Higher Grounds, raised awareness and money for the development of schools in Ethiopia coffee farming communities.
